Chair, Reference and Education Services

Reese Library

Fay started working for Reese Library as a Reference Librarian, Instructor in 1995. In June 1999, she was promoted to Coordinator of Reference Services, Assistant Professor. In January 2013, she accepted her current position as Chair of Reference and Education Services. Fay was selected to participate in the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Assessment in Action Project, where selected librarians will lead their campus teams in the development and implementation of an action learning project examining the impact of the library on student success and contributing to assessment activities on their campus.

Fay is currently serving as a committee member for: QEP Literature Review Team, FAST, Faculty Advisory for Students in Transition, INQR 1000 Faculty Development Team, GRU Dispute Resolution and Grievance Hearing Committee, and Sage Publishing National Library Advisory Board.

With nearly 20 years’ experience, Fay is a model colleague and recognized resource for faculty, students, and library staff.  She is known for providing consistent, high-quality customer service to faculty and students during instruction sessions, both one-on-one and in the classroom, and she regularly goes above and beyond.  She demonstrates initiative and creativity which lead to unique individual and team contributions. In addition, Fay encourages collaboration, energizes people, and aids in the development of staff.  She reflects the Libraries’ spirit of reaching new heights. We all recognize her as an asset to the University Libraries. Here’s what you had to say:

“Fay is always willing to lend an ear to whatever concerns you have about your job. She is genuinely invested in the success of those in her department as well as others who, though they may not report to her, value her opinion. Fay has taken on a number of additional responsibilities in the past year, but that has not diminished her commitment to her coworkers. Reese Library’s faculty and staff would definitely not be able to achieve what they have been able to achieve without her as one of our biggest cheerleaders.”

Fay has earned a BA with Honors in English from West Georgia College and a MSLS from the University of Tennessee. She is a member of American Library Association (ALA), Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), Southeastern Library Association (SELA), Georgia Library Association (GLA), and Phi Kappa Phi.

Thank you Fay for shinning so bright!
