Greenblatt Library & Augusta-Richmond Public Libraries Partner to Offer Health Literacy Lecture Series

Health Literacy Series

The Robert B. Greenblatt, M.D. Library in conjunction with the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library are hosting a series of health education and health literacy presentations.

The Health Literacy Pilot Project Award is being directed by Lindsay Blake, MLIS, AHIP, Clinical Librarian, and Vicki Burchfield, MLIS, Nursing Librarian, Greenblatt Library, and Kristin Eberhart, Outreach Librarian for the Augusta-Richmond Public Libraries.  The award will focus on providing interactive classes for minority populations in the Augusta area that focus on important health topics in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).  Topics will include: searching for consumer health information, diabetes, hypertension, sickle cell, Alzheimers disease, talking to your doctor, and asthma.

Presentations will be held the first Tuesday of the month at the Main Library on Telfair Street and rotate through the branch libraries on the third Tuesday of the month. Lectures have been scheduled through the fall:
