Each year the Augusta University Libraries recognize the important role of staff in providing excellent customer service and maintaining the libraries’ services. Nominations for the staff awards were received from the Libraries faculty and staff. Greenblatt Library and Reese Library voted on those who were nominated for their respective library. This was the third year the Libraries have given the awards. This year’s winners are David Kearns and Tamara Brewster.
David Kearns has remarkable initiative and critical thinking skills, as well as willingness to always assist. Dave has been a key player for the weeding project in Government Information. He is also a member of the ALMA Implementation Team, and has played part in Library programming for Finals Frenzy and the 2016 Peace Exhibit.
Tamara strives to provide customer service to everyone, whether they are students or faculty, or her co-workers here in the Greenblatt Library. She is diligent in her duties and she has a strong work ethic. Projects that Tamara worked on in the past year include withdrawing over 9,000 books during the book weeding project, writing a grant for the Ronald McDonald House on health information resources, and co-authoring a poster for a regional medical association meeting. Tamara is currently aiding in the Alma migration data clean-up project.
David and Tamara each received a certificate, flowers, and $250 as the recipients of the 2016 Augusta University Libraries Staff Recognition Awards. We are fortunate to have David and Tamara on our teams at the Libraries!
