The third event in the Augusta’s Viewpoints: Understanding the Civil War reading and discussion series is scheduled for Monday, November 12, at 7pm in Washington Hall at Augusta State University.
Dr. Debra van Tuyll, Professor at Augusta State University, will moderate discussion of LeeAnn Whites’ The Civil War as a Crisis in Gender: Augusta, Georgia 1860-1890. The series is an eight month reading and discussion series which includes six book titles that reflect on the multiple experiences and perspectives and experiences of Augustans during the American Civil War.
The project is a collaborative effort led by Carol Waggoner-Angleton, Special Collections Librarian, with special grant-funding from the Georgia Humanities Council.
