Exciting Program from Reese Library’s Consolidation Counterpart – Greenblatt Library

In observance of Open Access Week (October 22-28) the Greenblatt Library will host a lunch-time lecture, “The New World of Scholarly Publishing,” on Tuesday, October 23 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

The presentation will be given in room AB 108 at the Library by Sandra Bandy, M.L.S., Assistant Professor, Chair of Content Management, and David King, Ph.D. In addition to highlighting the advantages of Open Access literature, Sandra will showcase GHSU’s own open access institutional repository, Scholarly Commons.

Open Access (OA) literature is digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. It is made possible with the consent of the author or copyright-holder and it is compatible with peer review. The OA initiatives for scientific and scholarly literature insist on the importance of peer review.

Please bring your lunch and join in as Greenblatt Library takes a look at this new world of scholarly publishing, Open Access. Contact Sandra Bandy at sbandy@georgiahealth.edu or 706-721-0299 for more information.
