History of the Health Sciences lecture series continues at Greenblatt Library

RussellMooresThe third lecture in Robert B. Greenblatt, MD Library’s History of the Health Sciences lecture series will be presented on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 12:00 noon by Dr. Russell Moores. The title of his lecture is “The Chronicle of George and Procuring Specimens for the Teaching of Anatomy.” George is a mummified body discovered in 1913 when MCG moved from the Old MCG Building to today’s GRU Health Sciences campus.

Dr. Moores has been a faculty member of the Medical College of Georgia in the Division of Hematology/Oncology since 1965.  He has served as president of the Augusta Genealogical Society as well as a member of the Augusta-Richmond Historical Society. Dr. Moores has authored numerous articles regarding the history of the Medical College of Georgia.
