The third lecture in Robert B. Greenblatt, MD Library’s History of the Health Sciences lecture series will be presented on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 12:00 noon by Dr. Russell Moores. The title of his lecture is “The Chronicle of George and Procuring Specimens for the Teaching of Anatomy.” George is a mummified body discovered in 1913 when MCG moved from the Old MCG Building to today’s GRU Health Sciences campus.
Dr. Moores has been a faculty member of the Medical College of Georgia in the Division of Hematology/Oncology since 1965. He has served as president of the Augusta Genealogical Society as well as a member of the Augusta-Richmond Historical Society. Dr. Moores has authored numerous articles regarding the history of the Medical College of Georgia.
