Greenblatt Library Resources: Year in Review

Greenblatt Library strives continuously to meet the needs of our faculty, students, and researchers on the Health Sciences Campus by providing access to the most current core texts and highly rated scholarly journals.  Our 2014 Year in Review consist of new resources added (or re-added), updated editions of essential texts, and a list of the most read journals of 2014.

Greenblatt Library brings thousands of electronic journals to your desktops, laptops and mobile devices each year; however, in 2014 the top ten most read and downloaded journals including the following (number of individual document downloads indicated in parentheses):

  1. Journal of Biological Chemistry (12,560)
  2. Nature (11,344)
  3. Blood (8,616)
  4. Circulation (8,161)
  5. Science (7,962)
  6. Cell (7,711)
  7. Cancer Research (5,275)
  8. JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) (5,104)
  9. Neuron (4,552)
  10. Nature Medicine (3,996)

New resources added in 2014

Eleven essential textbooks were added to our Core Collection, including the 13th edition of Grant’s Atlas of Anatomy and the 10th edition of Kaplan’s Clinical Hypertension. An additional 73 titles (electronic or print) were also added throughout the year to our reference, core and general collections. These texts span topics from clinical immunology to physical therapy. Books and eBooks can be located using the Library Catalog located under the Quick Links tab on the Greenblatt Library website. EBooks can also be found in the eBook Navigator by searching for the title or selecting the subject area to view all titles associated with that topic.

Additionally, six journal titles were added to our collection including:

  • Pediatric Research
  • Nature Communications
  • Postgraduate Medicine
  • Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery
  • Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery
  • Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation

These titles can be located using a title search in the eJournal Navigator on the Greenblatt Library website.
