This semester, the Libraries are collaborating with Child Enrichment, Inc. and running a Clothes Closet donation drive for foster children in Richmond and Columbia Counties. Child Enrichment, Inc. is an umbrella organization that assists abused and neglected children to overcome their circumstances. The core goal “is to provide and coordinate comprehensive intervention, stabilization, advocacy and prevention in the best interests of abandoned, abused, neglected, and sexually abused children” (http://www.childenrichment.org/).
The Clothes Closet is based solely on community donations. Accepted items include: articles of clothing (for infants, children, and teenagers), shoes, new socks and underwear (packaged), diapers (packaged), tote bags, backpacks, school supplies, etc.
Donation boxes can be found in the Reese Library lobby.
