In the fall semester, the Libraries successfully collaborated with Child Enrichment, Inc. by running a Clothes Closet Donation Drive for foster children in Richmond and Columbia Counties. This initiative was spearheaded by Reese Library employee Elina Gutsaeva, who volunteers for Child Enrichment as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).

Child Enrichment, Inc. is an umbrella organization that assists abused and neglected children to overcome their circumstances. The core goal “is to provide and coordinate comprehensive intervention, stabilization, advocacy and prevention in the best interests of abandoned, abused, neglected, and sexually abused children” (http://www.childenrichment.org/).
The Clothes Closet is based solely on community donations. Accepted items include: articles of clothing (for infants, children, and teenagers), shoes, new socks and underwear (packaged), diapers (packaged), tote bags, backpacks, school supplies, etc.
The Libraries are continuing their Clothes Closet Donation Drive Donation this spring semester. Boxes can be found in the Reese Library lobby.
