Kathy Davies

Kathy Davies, Associate Director for Research, University Libraries, has been selected to participate in the Medical Library Association Research Training Institute for Health Sciences Librarians for 2018-2019. The program provides individual mentoring, instruction in research design, and membership in an ongoing research community. Kathy will begin her year-long program in May which will include a week long face to face program component at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The institute provides a unique opportunity to network with colleagues for future research learning, collaboration, and success.  Kathy received a partial scholarship that pays for the cost of registration. Her announcement letter says,  “The institute will serve as a cornerstone in helping health sciences librarians change from informed consumers of researchers to producers of quality research.”  Kathy’s research proposal focuses on identifying the necessary educational knowledge, resources, and skills for librarians to plan and evaluate instructional programs within their institutional settings.
