From the Historical Collections & Archives (HCA):
On October 22, 2019 the University Libraries is hosting its Sixth Annual Faculty Author Reception to recognize Augusta University faculty who have written or co-authored a book or book chapter in the past year. The HCA has a Faculty Author Collection of these books to maintain and preserve as a legacy of the faculty members and the university.

HCA also has a university archives record group, RG12: Faculty Publications. This record group consists of journal reprints by faculty members of the Health Sciences Campus. It is not a complete collection because it does not contain all the scholarly publications of every past and present faculty member. The finding aid, as found here, lists the names of the individual faculty members whose reprints are held in this collection. The individual articles are not listed in the finding aid, except in the case of Drs. Michael Prisant and Albert Carr. HCA added Dr. Prisant’s curated collection of his and Dr. Carr’s reprints to this collection. The finding aid includes Dr. Prisant’s bibliography of the reprints.

This record group is not stagnant; we would like to add journal reprints from current and past faculty members on the Health Sciences Campus. If you have journal reprints of your published work as an Augusta University faculty member and would like to include the reprints in this collection, please contact me.

From the Special Collections & Institutional Archives:
Reese Library Special Collections & Institutional Archives collects and preserves different types of institutional records produced by Augusta University and all of its past configurations: Augusta College, Augusta State University, and Georgia Regents University. Each institutional record is designated by the “IA” prefix in collection name. One of these collections is IA/08/01/001, Augusta College Faculty Wives, 1967-1979. The collection contains different types of records, but mainly scrapbooks created by the Augusta Faculty Wives club.
Elsewhere in Special Collections, there is a cookbook compiled by the same club (“Favorite recipes of the faculty wives of Augusta College” S.C.LD270.18 F39) and “Faculty Wives of Augusta College [yearbook]” SC.LD270.18 F3. Both of these books can be found in the stacks.
As mentioned before, the sixth annual Faculty Author Reception is on October 22nd, 2019, and I want to remind community users that we hold a collection of publications written by AU faculty members. If interested in viewing these books, come check out our ‘faculty authors’ shelf or look through more of our institutional records related to faculty by appointment.
