University Libraries Launches New Website

The University Libraries Web Committee, led by Library Systems Analyst, Vonny Nogales, has worked to provide users with a more navigable and engaging experience, redesigning the libraries’ webpages. With support from the libraries’ leadership team, and in accordance with Augusta University’s Web Services guidelines, the new site will debut on September 5, 2023.

What has changed? Users will notice a joint University Libraries homepage with contact information for Reese and Greenblatt libraries, as well as a link to Meet Your Librarians, the subject specialists who assist with research assignments, questions about resources, and provide library instruction. Additionally, this page has a top menu bar that provides access to a message from our inaugural Dean and the libraries’ mission and vision, and also includes links to the libraries individual pages. Perhaps the most noticeable change is the vibrant, clickable images of Greenblatt and Reese libraries that allow users to easily navigate to each library’s home page.

While resources and services remain customized for our primary user groups, site visitors will notice improved layouts and organization. Greenblatt users will recognize the PubMed search box with additional links to Access Medicine and CINAHL; however, sections for Teaching Assistance and Research Tools & Collections are repositioned to feature more prominently on the page. Reese Library’s DISCOVER search also remains with links to GILFind, a listing of databases, and specialized Research Guides; users will see streamlined Resources and Services sections. Each library will highlight its most popular services with clickable boxes and keep users in-the-know with library news. The improved site will also feature a prominent chat box, allowing users to conveniently connect with library staff from any page. We are excited to introduce these changes and welcome you to explore the new University Libraries website.
