The Augusta University Libraries is happy to announce that Whitney Russell has been chosen for the role of Open Scholarship Librarian. She will be starting her work in Augusta in December.
Russell’s Role at AU Libraries will lead the Institutional repository’s efforts and will work to champion open access efforts at Augusta University. In addition, she will serve as the University Libraries’ liaison to the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.
She will also be the “Library Champion” for Affordable Learning Georgia, which supports the “Adoption, adaptation and creation of affordable and open educational resources by USG faculty and professional staff,” according to the ALG mission.
Russell is the Digital Projects Librarian at the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries. She received her MLIS and Graduate Certificate in Archives and Special Collections from the University of Southern Mississippi and a BA in History from the Mississippi University for Women.
Russell will primarily be at the Greenblatt Library.
