GRU Libraries’ Librarians on the Beat Heart Walk Team

There was an abundance of smiles and energy on the morning of March 7th when the GRU Libraries team, Librarians on the Beat, met at Riverview Park in North Augusta to participate in the Annual CSRA Heart Walk and celebrate a successful fundraiser. Wearing hand-made t-shirts, bandanas, and sneakers, they set off together but it wasn’t long before the director and head librarian left everyone in the dust giving new meaning to the term “leadership”!

In the months leading up to this event, the librarians and staff of Greenblatt and Reese Libraries destroyed not one, but TWO fundraising goals with a grand total of $1255.23 raised for this worthy cause. This was a team effort that involved a combination of individual initiative, the CHANGEing Hearts change collection jars, and internal fundraising events. In addition to breaking our fundraising goal (twice!), the GRU Libraries also well exceeded their recruitment goal of 10 walkers, with 15 people participating. Congratulations on a job well done, Librarians on the Beat!
