University Libraries Participate in Staff Development Day

On May 7, staff members from Greenblatt Library and Reese Library participated in the first University Libraries’ Staff Development Day. Included in the day-long event were sessions from GRU Workforce Development about “Managing Time, Change, and Stress,” presented by Ms. Jennie Brantley, and  “Understanding and Promoting Communication Styles and Differences,” offered by Ms. Wanda O’Brien. “Workplace Exercises,” led by Ms. Lurelia Hardy from the Department of Kinesiology, helped staff members learn how to exercise even when sitting at their desks.   Interdepartmental roundtables were also a part of the day and were an opportunity for staff members from each Library to learn more about the day-to-day work of their counterparts.

Members of the University Libraries learn that it is impossible to juggle too many tasks.

Staff Development Day provided an excellent opportunity for staff members to continue to develop professionally as well as learn more about one another.
