What is the Liaison Program?
The GRU Libraries Liaison Program is designed to foster communication between the University Libraries and their users across the University community regarding Libraries’ resources and services. The program pairs various academic and clinical units with a faculty librarian who serves as the primary point of contact for the University Libraries and the services they offer to the GRU community.
What does a liaison do?
The duties of a library liaison can vary depending on the needs of his or her department. Generally, liaisons provide support in the areas of collection development, research, and education services. This can include everything from teaching instruction classes and providing research consultations to attending departmental faculty meetings and collaborating on research projects with faculty in his or her departments.
What is an “embedded librarian”?
Embedded librarianship is an important part of the Liaison Program at Greenblatt Library. In this service model, librarians are incorporated as active participants at the college level. These librarians have office hours in their colleges and are active participants in teaching, research, grant writing, and other services.
Wondering who works with what department? See the charts below for Greenblatt and Reese Libraries. Note that areas are subject to change as new faculty librarians are added.
