New Books Added

The 5th annual Writers Weekend at Summerville was sponsored this year by the Department of English and Foreign Languages in honor of Dr. Elizabeth House, former Dean of the Pamplin College,  and presented in cooperation with Blue Flower Arts and The Book Tavern. It featured workshops and readings with several writers, poets, and teachers.

minickA copy of the latest books by the participating authors was purchased for Reese Library by the English and Foreign Languages Department and signed by the authors. Included among the new additions are Aimee Nezhukumatathil’s Lucky Fish, Hannah Palmer’s Flight Path, Julia Elliott’s The New and Improved Romie Futch, Karin Gillespie’s Love Literary Style, and Jim Minick’s debut novel Fire is Your Water. Ms. Gillespie is a former faculty member at Augusta University and has a book column in the Augusta Chronicle and a humor column in Augusta Magazine. Mr. Minick teaches English and Creative Writing at Augusta University and Converse College.
