Reese Library recently transitioned the Special Collections & Institutional Archives’ information management platform, which stores the finding aids for its collections, from Archon to ArchivesSpace. The transition to ArchivesSpace took over a year to complete. From now on, Augusta University students, staff/faculty, and community users can access finding aids by accessing this link: https://aspace-augusta.galileo.usg.edu/.
ArchivesSpace is an open-source digital information management system through which archival repositories can store their records. The mission of any archival repository is to provide the widest access possible to its records. While most of our collections have not yet been digitized, the finding aids (descriptions of what collections contain) are available through this new platform. Please contact Maranda Christy, Library Assistant, at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about how to access finding aids through ArchivesSpace.
