Thanks to generous funding from Dean Mark Thompson in the Hull College of Business, the University Libraries have recently added two important datasets to the Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) platform. The Libraries and the Hull College have a long-term partnership through the Libraries’ liaison librarian program that provides assistance with research guides, library instruction, and more. This latest collaboration with the Libraries providing the subscription to the main WRDS platform and the Hull College providing the new datasets only solidifies our partnership.

The new datasets include information from the Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) and Compustat from S&P Global Market Intelligence. CRSP maintains the most comprehensive collection of security price, return, and volume data for the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ stock markets. Additional CRSP files provide stock indices, beta-based and cap-based portfolios, treasury bond and risk-free rates, mutual funds, and real estate data. Compustat Financials provides standardized North American and global financial statements and market data for over 80,000 active and inactive publicly traded companies that financial professionals have relied on for over 50 years. Our subscription also includes access to the CRSP/Compustat Merged Database which provides CRSP and Compustat users with a convenient way to link CRSP market and corporate action data with Compustat fundamental data.
The specific datasets available with our subscription include:
- S&P Compustat Bank
- Compustat Bank – daily updates
- S&P Compustat Global

- S&P Compustat North America – annual update (current + historical data)
